From CBS ATLANTA: Residents in the Northlake area of DeKalb County have scheduled a town hall meeting to discuss a recent rash of car break-ins.

“We’re very concerned,” state Representative Scott Holcomb said, whose own car was broken into one morning just before Christmas. “The thieves are very bold.”

Holcomb said his car was broken into at 8 a.m. while he was home.

“What’s really disturbing is that it’s really brazen,”Holcomb said. “My car was parked in my driveway and despite that, they still came onto my property, broke into my car and stole some items.”

Holcomb and the Northlake Community Alliance are working with DeKalb police to step up patrols and stop the break-ins.”

The Northlake Mall community is located in Northeast Atlanta and has an affluent population. The primary employers for the Northlake Residents arein Emory University, Childrens Hospital and The Centers for Disease Control.
