Northlake Mall opened in 1971 and the NE DeKalb County neighborhoods surrounding the Mall were ever after tagged “Northlake”.

Northlake neighborhoods sit near the intersection of 30345, 30340, 30084 and 30341 zip codes. The Mall is located at the intersection of I-285 and LaVista Road.

A portion of the Northlake Mall business district, in zip code 30084, has now been incorporated into the City of Tucker.

Northlake is convenient to Emory University, Centers for Disease Control and the Clifton Corridor.

Many of the residents of Northlake neighborhoods hold advanced degrees – Masters and PhDs as a result of their work at Emory and CDC.

LAKESIDE HIGH SCHOOL (nationally recognized for excellence – consistently ranked among top performing High Schools in Georgia) and HENDERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL serve most Northlake neighborhoods. Several Elementary Schools serve as feeder schools.

A number of students are enrolled at nearby Saint Pius X High school
