Hawthorne has been winning awards right and left as students, teachers and parents raised the bar for performance standards. They got a little help from re-development of some lower income apartments in the area. But the results have gone far beyond that variable and many parents now seek out Hawthorne Elementary School for their children’s elementary school experience.
When my cousin, Natalie Piper Williams was touring homes to purchase in Emory and CDC neighborhoods, I had no problem recommending homes in the Hawthorne School district as many, yes many parents had recommended the school. I have often attended Hawthorne’s “realtor” day and it never fails to impress.
