LaVista Office Park Demolished

LaVista Office Park Demolished

LaVista Office Park DemolishedLaVista Office Park Demolished making way for a new shopping center.  Driving along Northlake Parkway I passed by LaVista Office Park being demolished to make way for new shopping and dining options.  The complex that runs from Folks Restaurant, Waffle House and a Burger Joint at the Corner of LaVista Road and Northlake Parkway then all the way to the sharp left turn on Northlake Parkway before crossing I-285, is being torn down to make way for a new shopping complex.

Northlake people are excited that new options rumored to be on the way include Sprouts.

I recently read on social media that an ALDI is coming to the Best Buy shopping center on LaVista Road.  Someone with greater foresight than me has been looking at DeKalb County sign permit requests and gleaned this information.

For many years Northlake has been overlooked by upscale grocers those wishing to shop at Costco, Trader Joes and Sprouts have had to make a 15 to 30 minute drive to other neighborhoods.  We are hopeful the demolitian of LaVista Office Park brings some additional shopping opportunities to Northlake.  The demographics of the area certainly support this move by developers.  Income levels in the 30345 zip code are among the highest in DeKalb County.  With Emory University and Centers for Disease Control ranking among the largest employers in the area – the education level also far exceeds other neighborhoods in metro Atlanta.

Businesses looking for new opportunities will find untapped potential in the LaVista Office Park location.  Northlake Mall no longer serves local residents and draws customers from other parts of Metro Atlanta.  Currently local residents drive to other locations to spend their generous paychecks.  Residents in the area are hungry – literally – for more upscale shopping and dining options. Bring us some spending options closer to home!
